The concept on which IvyTex is based has been used for years in industry in highly stressed areas where moving parts need to be protected from wear. ABUS makes use of this idea and uses it as a coating for chain locks. On the one hand, this increases protection against abrasion and, on the other, the cover protects the bike from damage caused by the chain. As a result, water, for example, is not absorbed by the fabric and the locks are protected against corrosion.
