ZIPP Hub ZR1 SL rear Sram/Shimano 12x142, 28 hole | black
Zipp's ZR1 SL is a race-ready, lightweight hubset designed for high performance and durability. The SL version is modeled after its predecessor, the ZR1 hub, and features a lighter hub shell and bearing system. This hub set has been specially developed for our top-of-the-range NSW wheels and is now also available separately. The ZR1 SL is supplied with carbon steel bearings, with a retrofit option for ceramic bearings to reduce weight. The hub design creates a fast engagement feel with 66 points of engagement. The six pawls are offset to work in two groups of three pawls. Three pawls engage at any given time.
This means that the power from your legs is quickly transferred to your wheels. The design of the freehub ensures that the pawls stay in place during disassembly to make maintenance easier. Zipp hubs use J-bend spokes, the most widely used spoke type today. J-bend spokes are widely used and are easier to replace. ZR1 hubs are approved for use with light assist road or gravel e-bikes when the motor torque does not exceed 60 Nm.
