Note on disposal of used batteries

The following note is intended for end users who use batteries or products with built-in batteries:

Free take-back of used batteries

Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. You are legally required to return used batteries so that proper disposal can be ensured. You can return used batteries to a municipal collection point or to local retail stores. We are also obligated as a distributor of batteries to take back used batteries, whereby our take-back obligation is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our own product range. Therefore, you can either send used batteries of the aforementioned type back to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge directly at our shipping warehouse at the following address:

Meaning of battery symbols

Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out trash bin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent by mass of mercury, more than 0.002 percent cadmium, or more than 0.004 percent lead, the chemical designation of the respective pollutant is shown under the trash bin symbol—“Cd” stands for cadmium, “
