The OAK Components Root Lever Pro version impresses with its completely tool-free adjustability, outstanding durability and unique design. The result of all of Oak Components' development work is a brake lever that offers many adjustment options and has outstanding kink protection for your brake line.
The "Empty Path Adjustment" (EPA) screw enables easy adjustment of the free travel on the lever. With the "Contact Point Adjustment" (CPA) screw, the "bite point" can be adjusted in 1/4-millimeter increments using notches on the screw.
Together, the two adjustment screws allow you to adjust your brake to literally any preference. Levers far away from the handlebars and a long freestroke? That's definitely possible. Levers very close to the handlebars and literally no free travel? No problem. Something in between? That's also possible, of course.
In addition to your new lever, you will receive a steel spring that replaces the rubber cover to protect the brake line. According to Oak Components, the spring is more reliable in the event of a fall and distributes the forces evenly to protect the line.
The brake lever can be adjusted easily, quickly and precisely using the EPA system from OAK. This means that a return spring, which often causes problems with the brakes of the MT series, is no longer required. In combination with the CPA system, every imaginable lever position can be achieved and the brake can be adapted to all personal preferences. Your braking system is more fail-safe than ever before.
The CPA from OAK Components is a mechanism for finely adjusting the pressure point. The production of a special adjustment screw makes it possible: the pressure point can be adjusted in 1/4 millimeter increments using fine locking marks on the thread of the specially designed adjustment screw, providing haptic feedback through a clearly defined click. The adjustment range is significantly larger than with original Magura levers and makes the brake system more adaptable.
A completely new anti-kink device on the brake line holder protects this highly stressed area. Kinking the brake line can lead to a spongy pressure point or, in the worst case, oil loss. Experience has shown that the usual plastic parts do not provide reliable protection in the event of a crash or contact with a tree. In tests, a steel spring was able to absorb the forces much better and is the method of choice.
Adjusting the lever ratio for maximum braking power with first-class controllability makes a good brake even better. OAK Components calculated, compared and tested countless variants until they came to the best result for themselves and their team riders.
