The perfectly crafted 6069 aluminum features an impact-resistant anodized finish, which - together with the slightly angular cross-section - gives the rim incredible stability. This ensures loss-free propulsion at all times. The rim joint has been meticulously welded and ground, guaranteeing long-lasting durability. The very generous 30 mm inner width gives the tire an optimally round shape, which translates to better grip and greater comfort. The very flat tread pattern also contributes to this comfort. Newmen has opted for a rim flange with a hook. This ensures the tire stays securely in place at all times, even on difficult terrain or at low air pressure, significantly minimizing the risk of the tire coming off. Additionally, it is reinforced compared to the Light version and easily withstands punctures. Newmen’s proprietary FADE hub is every bit as good as the rim. User-friendliness was a top priority in its design. There’s no need to adjust the axial bearing play. The bearings are preloaded without tension and precisely pressed in at the factory. In addition, the seal is perfect, so water and dirt have no chance of getting inside. Your pedaling motion is converted into forward motion by a ratchet freewheel. To ensure reliable operation, the ratchet pawl teeth are designed to be very short and wide, allowing for better distribution of the forces involved. Despite the hubs’ relatively low weight, no compromises were made on safety. It’s better to use a little more material in critical Areas - such as the transition between the brake rotor and spoke Mounts - than to risk a failure. Combined with the indestructible Sapim Race spokes, you’ll be ready for anything and can spend the time you save riding your favorite trail for longer.
