The Zipp 202 NSW was designed specifically for climbing specialists - with its almost weightless speed on the steepest climbs, our lightest wheelset to date enables every rider to reach the summit even faster. But the 202 NSW can do more than just climb fast: It offers decisive aero advantages on the approach to the climb and is designed for maximum confidence on technical descents. The 202 NSW builds on the carbon layup of the state-of-the-art 353 NSW with its Biomimetic laminate, which utilizes various mixed-modulus carbon fibers. By mimicking the function of a muscle tendon, both stiffness around the spoke bed and robustness at the rim flange are maximized. The carbon fibers used on the outer rim are optimized for impact resistance and durability, while the high-modulus fibers on the inner rim maintain consistently stable spoke tension even under the dynamic stresses of riding. The result is a rim design that enables a wheelset weighing under 1100 g, which responds instantly to every pedal stroke without sacrificing the robustness or the aerodynamic advantages of the 35 mm profile height on descents.
